After some time of evaluating costs it wasn’t wise go for a slab roof which would also be the first floor therefore the contractors and engineers decided on a roof called rib and block. As illustrated in the picture below. Timber supports are placed underneath in perpendicular direction to the rib. The ribs are lying in a row forming columns. In betweeen the columns are the blocks.
