Monday morning , quotation was approved and it was time to begin work. However while on site we found more things that added to the contractors cost therefore they needed to be priced. Illustrated above are the addition costs.

The drawing above in a day at work planning and helping with the estimations in order to prepares quotations. Preparing work schedules and payment plans for workers due for submitting on Monday.

Renovations are exciting for the clients and myself . Giving an already built structure a new look.

This home is located in Emmarentia the owners needed a new look for the house therefore all doors were removed and reinstalled. Removal of carpet.

Plumbing is important as it will determine the overall sanitation of the bathrooms

On my drawing I had to highlight each part and bathroom different contractors were working on.

It’s sad that this is my last day on site. I had fun doing some management.

Nothing better than good timber work u must say I was rather impressed by the work that was done on the table , very vintage and silk I’m here for it.

Today was a success

After much searching I was able to find a site with the help of the foreman on site we were able to tackle issues together

Today’s agenda was looking into all the material and paper work brought in by the contractors. Each work station is allocated to different workers. With the use of a network diagram we were able to keep track of who is supposed to be coming in on which date and see if they will be any possible days

Day was very lengthy and tiring 😣 but it is what the heart wants to do 😁😆

COVID 19 has hit hard and it is difficult for us to network and get ourselves out there as a result I planned a Zoom meeting with William Townsend who is a Quantity Surveyor at Barrow Construction

He asked me to prepare questions for him and you put together a presentation answering the questions. We then set up a date and I sent invites to my classmates to Join the live

He answered each question with full details. We spoke about how Covid 19 has affected the construction industry and the way forward

It was super informative

After being on site yesterday it is time to get to the numbers.

The building consists of 2 floors and both floors require renovations. internal area is required for ceiling therefore the first step is to calculate the area taking into consideration the different work stations

Today started very early as I prepared to meet with the project manager of a site that requires maintenance as a result ceiling had to be renovated. On today’s agenda we looked at the drawings together analyzed them and finally got to measuring the working space.
